Call for Presentations
Do you have a passion towards a particular subject in Amateur Radio? Here is an opportunity to share it with fellow HAMs at the 2025 Duke City Hamfest (DCHF).
We are seeking speakers to deliver presentations on technical and non-technical topics focusing on Amateur Radio. Presentations will be delivered in person on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 and the morning of Sunday, September 21st, 2025 during the DCHF forums. These are non-paid, volunteer presentations. Forum presenters will receive free admission to the 2025 DCHF. Forum sessions are limited to sixty (60) and ninety (90) minutes in length which includes time for Q&A. We would like presentations to be delivered with an accompanying PowerPoint slide deck.
Additionally, we are seeking individuals interested in facilitating longer, four (4) or eight (8) hour workshops and seminars on Friday, September 19th, 2025. This is a great opportunity to offer deep dives into a focused area of Amateur Radio.
Examples of amateur radio topic areas we are seeking include, but are not limited to:
- Emerging Digital Modes
- Antennas & Propagation
- DXing, Contesting, & other technical areas
- General Interest
- Hands on Demonstration will also be considered
We will consider any topic focused within the realm of Amateur Radio. Please don’t hesitate to submit your proposal.
We request that your submission package should include the following:
- A short speaker’s bio with contact information (300 words or less).
- This will help us get to know you and give us what we need to help promote your forum presentation.
- An abstract of your presentation (300 words or less) .
- This outline focuses on the central concepts around your forum presentation.
- Required Technical/Audio Visual equipment to deliver the presentation
- If available, a sample of some slides from a previous/current PowerPoint presentation you developed. This is not required but tells us more about you as a presenter.
Submissions will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis. We encourage you to submit more than one (1) presentation for consideration. The submission deadline for consideration to present is Monday, July 14th, 2025.

IF YOU ARE SELECTED:
A copy of your final presentation will have to be submitted to the DCHF Forum Committee Coordinator in electronic format no later than two (2) weeks prior to the presentation date. That will be Sunday, September 7th, 2025. Presentations will be made available to registered attendees via the Internet as a PDF file download with the permission of the presenter. Any supplemental handouts will be in digital PDF form.
The forum presentation dates are Saturday, September 20th, 2025 or Sunday, September 21st, 2025 at The Embassy Suites by Hilton on 1000 Woodward Road NE in Albuquerque New Mexico. Presentations are scheduled in intervals between 8:30 and 5:00 on Saturday and 8:30 and 12:00 on Sunday. All classrooms will accommodate a minimum of 30 attendees in a standard classroom configuration. An AV system with HDMI input will be provided with internet access available in all classrooms. A DCHF Forums volunteer will be available to assist the speaker as needed in the classroom. You will be expected to use your own computer which must be able to hook up to the AV system via your HDMI cable. DCHF staff may be able to provide limited technical support, but it is expected that you have verified your capability to utilize HDMI output for your presentation.
